Albany Closes Exhibition for the U.S. East Coast region part 2

As the opening in New York City, the gala dinner in Albany with a fashion show marked the wedding palace Solo (dodot basahan) collection of the Museum Batik Danar Hadi. Next show is also Indonesia’s leading designer, Oscar and Emma Lawalata Holiza (Batik Hundred). A total of 50 collections of contemporary batik fashion both young and talented designers is demonstrated by enchanting by the local model of New York. The atmosphere more warm and festive with dazzling performances Ambassador Sudjadnan who played saxophone with a local jazz group “The Hampton”. Indonesian dinner menu specially prepared by Chef Yono Purnomo, one son and one of Indonesia’s leading chef in the U.S. that opened Yono’s restaurant at the Hotel Hampton Inn and Suites Albany.
The event is intended as an integrated promotion of culture, tourism and trade has been going on smoothly, lively and warm. The guests seemed impressed with a series of events are shown. The appreciation shown by the audience enough to give a signal that the Indonesian batik can be well received by the U.S. public. This is while strengthening support for efforts to incorporate Pemri Indonesian batik in UNESCO’s list of “intangible cultural heritage”. In fact, many visitors who book batik dresses both the Oscar and Emma Lawalata Holiza.
Final series of collections of Batik Exhibition President Obama’s Mother will be held in Washington DC on 8-23 August 2009. Planned opening reception will be held on August 8 in the Gala Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Washington DC and will be attended by Maya Soetoro, brother of President Obama (Source: Consulate General New York).
